1. How can I estimate my weekly benefit rate for unemployment compensation?

To estimate your weekly benefit rate, go to Calculating the Weekly Benefit Rate, then select the Rate and Amount of Benefits Table. There is also a separate page that explains the Partial Benefit Credit.

UC eligibility cannot be predetermined. Your eligibility will be based on the information provided by you and your employer(s) after you have filed your claim.

2. Why is there 2.3/1.7 percent benefit reduction of weekly benefits?

The PA UC Law contains a provision to automatically adjust benefit payments when the balance in the UC Trust Fund is low. Benefit payments for compensable weeks prior to Jan. 5, 2013, were reduced by 2.3 percent. Currently, all weeks ending Jan. 5, 2013, and after are reduced by 1.7 percent. This reduction will continue while the balance in the Unemployment Compensation Trust fund remains low. This reduction applies to UC regular benefits. EUC, EB, TRA and DUA benefits will not be affected. Learn more ….
