Karen Stokes
Karen Stokes was born and raised in Washington, D.C. and is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Virginia School of Law. Karen has over 13 years of legal experience, primarily in the areas of employment law and taxation. She served on the gubernatorial and Presidential campaigns for George W. Bush.

Prior to her appointment as Executive Director for the Governor’s Advisory Commission on African American Affairs, she served as senior development officer at The Philadelphia Education Fund. In this role she developed marketing, fundraising and communication strategies aimed at increasing annual support of scholarship program for Philadelphia public high school student.

Karen resides in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood in Philadelphia with her husband Ricky and their teen-age daughter Sydney.
