Act 24 of 2011 provides a two year suspension of the Act 48 continuing professional education requirements for educators. The suspension/ moratorium period took effect on August 29, 2011. As part of the two-year suspension/moratorium, two years were added to the continuing professional education periods of certificate holders whose certificates were in an active status at the time the moratorium took effect. Since additional time was added due to the passage of Act 24 of 2011, there is no need to provide extensions during the suspension/moratorium period; therefore, none will be granted.
