Please use the following procedure to request a resolution hearing in this office:

• Counsel for either party, or an unrepresented claimant, may request a resolution hearing at any time.
   
• All resolution hearing requests must be in writing.
   
  • If the case is pending before a workers’ compensation judge, the request must be directed to the assigned judge.
     
  • If the case is not pending before a workers’ compensation judge, the request must be directed to the judge manager for the judges’ office serving the county of the claimant’s residence. If the claimant resides outside of the commonwealth, the request must be directed to the judge manager for the judges’ office most proximate to the claimant’s residence. The judge manager will assign a judge to conduct the resolution hearing.
     
• The assigned judge’s office will schedule the case for hearing to take place within 14 business days of receiving the request.
   
• If the assigned judge determines that he or she is unable to comply with any of the Act 147 requirements in a particular case, the judge manager will reassign the case to another judge.
   
• The judge conducting the resolution hearing shall require written proof that a petition has been filed with the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. Upon receiving such proof, the judge shall proceed with the hearing and shall circulate a final decision within five business days of the hearing.
