Welcome to Health e-stats. Vol. 2-2014 March 12, 2014

Health e-stats is an email-based bulletin produced by the Bureau of Health Statistics and Research in order to keep data users informed about updates to the Health Statistics Web pages.
 

Web Updates

Annual Ambulatory Surgery Center Reports, 2012-2013 – Facility level reports providing information on utilization, medical staff and personnel.

Annual Hospital Reports, 2012-2013 – This update includes a collection of 16 reports displaying various health facility information, including the number of beds, admissions, discharges, occupancy rates and length of stay.

Cancer Facts and Figures for Pennsylvania 2013 – This informative brochure contains estimated projections for the number of cancer cases and deaths for 2013, screening data, trend analysis and a comparison to U.S. data.

Cancer Facts and Figures for African-Americans, Pennsylvania 2013 – This brochure focuses on cancer statistics among African-Americans in Pennsylvania and includes projections for 2013, as well as screening data, trend analysis and a comparison to U.S. data.

Cancer Incidence and Mortality, Executive Summary, 2011 – Contains the most recent single-year cancer statistics summarized for incidence and mortality, including frequency counts and age-adjusted rates.

Cancer Standard Output Tables – The cancer incidence tables have been updated with 2011 data. The standard output tables are a large volume of all the latest available and historical annual and five-year cancer incidence and mortality statistics for the state, counties and municipalities by age, sex, race, primary site and stage.

County Health Profiles, 2013 – The 2013 County Health Profiles are a series of 68 individual data listings – one for each county and one for Pennsylvania.

EpiQMS – Our interactive health statistics web tool, Epidemiologic Query and Mapping System, has been updated with 2011 and 2009-2011 cancer incidence data; 2012 population data; and 2012 and 2010-2012 sexually transmitted diseases (STD) data.

Healthy People – Healthy People 2020 (HP2020) is a set of goals and objectives with 10-year targets designed to guide national health promotion and disease prevention efforts in order to improve the health of all Americans.

Minority Health Disparity Reports – A summary of significantly higher rates for various health topics among Pennsylvania's minority races and ethnicities. Four topic areas have been updated: 2011 Cancer Incidence, 2011 Hospitalization for Selected Conditions, 2011 Maternal and Infant Health, and 2000-2012 Population.

Preliminary 2012 Death Statistics – These reports contain preliminary Pennsylvania resident deaths by month for the state; all 67 counties; and all cities, boroughs and townships within each county. It also includes the preliminary Pennsylvania occurrence deaths by month. Click on the Preliminary Statistics tab on the Death Statistics page.
