The Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs (BDAP), Data Section is responsible for Federal data reporting which includes the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Block Grant, the Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS) reporting through the Drug and Alcohol Services Information System (DASIS), and the Inventory of Substance Abuse Treatment Services (I-SATS).
We are currently moving forward with the statewide launch of a new treatment data system dubbed the Strengthening Treatment and Recovery (STAR) Data System that will replace the current CIS with new enhanced features for providers and SCAs. We are providing ongoing updates on the new system throughtout this process. BDAP is continuing the process of enhancing performance measurement with this new system by refining and/or adding additional National Outcome Measures (NOMs), by improving the current measures, and by increasingly reporting data on Pennsylvania's performance outcome measures.
The Data Section is responsible for BDAP's website, email list serve, Performance Based Prevention System (PBPS) to capture prevention data, the Client Information System (CIS) to collect treatment data, the SCA Data System (SDS) to collect contract compliance monitoring of providers by the Single County Authority (SCAs), the BDAP Training Management System (BTMS) to collect training data, and the BDAP Communicator. All of these systems enhance communications and operations within the SCA community.
