STD Clinical Services

To control STD, the STD Program and the County/Municipal Health Departments operate free, confidential STD clinics statewide. STD patients receive tests for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis; high risk female STD patients receive PAP smears. All STD clinics receive appropriate antibiotics to treat syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea. Hepatitis B vaccinations are offered in the majority of  STD clinic sites. In addition, all STD patients have the opportunity to receive HIV pretest counseling and a confidential HIV test.
