Health Care Workforce
The Department of Health realizes the importance of having enough healthcare professionals. We distribute surveys to licensed healthcare professionals during their license renewal process, so that, we have a better understanding of this workforce. We can then make plans to ensure that we have enough physicians, physician assistants, nurses, dentists, and dental hygienists to continue to deliver much needed health services in our state. The results of these surveys can be found in our Health Care Workforce Reports.
Managed Care
The Bureau of Managed Care collects information on the number of people enrolled in a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). This data is available in Managed Care Reports that show the number enrolled in HMOs by county and also by plan or product line.
