Ruffed Grouse & American Woodcock Cooperator
Bird hunters, help make a difference by becoming a Ruffed Grouse and American Woodcock Cooperator
Several hundred Pennsylvania grouse and/or woodcock hunters help the Game Commission manage these important game birds by keeping a log of their daily hunting activities. This survey has been conducted since the mid-1960s and helps us track the status of these game bird populations as well as hunter success. Hunters are asked to record number of flushes and hours by county(s) hunted. If you would like to participate for either game bird, you may download the Grouse data form or the Woodcock data form.
At the end of the season, mail the forms to PA GAME COMMISSION, BUREAU OF WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT, 2001 ELMERTON AVE., HARRISBURG, PA 17110. You will then be added to the list and receive information through the mail in the future. The preseason mailing includes the From the Coverts newsletter, field data cards, data forms and a postage-paid envelope for sending us your data forms. Or you may call (717-787-5529) or write to the Bureau of Wildlife Management to become a cooperator. Thanks for your help!
