Long-Term Occupational Employment Projections

This publication presents occupational employment projections. These long-term projections will be used primarily as a reference tool for career guidance, job search assistance and training program planning by Workforce Investment Boards, Economic Developers, Program Planners, CareerLink sites, educators and career counselors. This information will also be utilized for upcoming editions of the Career Guide and the High Priority Occupations lists. All data in this publication were prepared by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, Center for Workforce Information & Analysis (CWIA).

 

Occupational projections are available for the state, 22 Workforce Investment Areas and 14 Metropolitan Statistical Areas (as defined by the 2000 Census). Please click on the links listed below to select your geographical area of interest.

 

Before viewing the occupational projections, you may want to read the Projections Methodology. This section provides an overview of the methodology used to prepare industry and occupational projections. In addition, a listing of all Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes and titles used in these reports is available from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
